WHAT IS DTF PRINTING ?
In today's modern world, direct-to-film printing technology is gathering speed and becoming more advantageous everyday. Isn't it right time for you to add a new production line to your business? We would like to offer you the most cost-effective way to expand your target market by printing on a wide variety of fabrics compared to direct textile printing technology. This new technology which we offer is DTF (Direct to Film) Printing.
The DTF process works as simple as its name suggests – Print on a film and directly transfer onto fabric. The most important advantage of this system is the freedom to choose almost any fabric. Be it polyester, cotton, silk or synthetic fibres like rayon or terrycot, the DTF printing process will definitely work its magic on them.
WHY SHOULD YOU PREFER DTF PRINTING BUSINESS ?
- Works with almost all types of fabrics (cotton, silk, polyester, rayon, etc.)
- You don’t waste your time with cutting and sorting activities in the DTF printing system.
- Flexible and high quality.
- Simple to learn and use.
- Very slightly hand feel touch.
- Highest cost efficiency compared to other textile printing systems.
HOW DOES DTF PRINTING SYSTEM WORK ?
First of all, we prepare the PNG image and then insert the PET film in the printer trays which we have modified for you. After placing Pet Film on our A3 DTF or A4 DTF printer, which has 6 color ink tanks, we just hit print button. The inkjet printer will print “direct to film”, transferring the image onto your PET film.
Second step is to pour the powder onto the film. You have to apply the powder while the print is still wet. The important thing is to ensure that the powder is evenly spread all over the printed surface on the film.
Next step is melting the powder. We can do it in various ways but we will tell you about the 2 most commonly used ways. One of them is to put the film with the printed image and the applied powder in the Curing Oven and heat. If you don’t have an oven, place the film inside the heat press and bring the top of the press very close to the film without letting them touching each other. There should be around 4 to 7 mm gap between the film and heat press top plate of the heat press. For the best result, the heating process is generally lasted for 2 minutes with the temperature around 180 degrees.
We have reached the most important stage which is called pressing. The PET film with the image and the melted powder is placed on the fabric. The pressing can be done at a temperature range of 165 degree for approximately 13 seconds.
After the pressing process, you need to be sure that it gets cooled down to room temperature. Once the film is cooled, peel off the transfer paper and leave the required design on the fabric!
